Melina Casados is a poet, community worker, and daughter of Central American immigrants. She grew up in North Carolina and moved to New York to obtain her MFA in poetry at Brooklyn College where she was a Rona Jaffe Found Fellowship recipient.
Melina served as the poetry editor for Snapdragon: A Journal of Art & Healing, and taught at Brooklyn College before becoming an Immigrant Services library worker at the Brooklyn Public Library.
With a fixation for complexity in the mundane, she is chronically invested in identity, culture, and care.
